About Us

A home fueled by color, connection, and a shared love for making things that matter.

Ours is a house brimming with sketchbooks, scribbled ideas, art supplies on every surface, and the occasional dance party in the kitchen. We met in college — two creative souls on parallel paths. Nat was studying Art Therapy at Alverno, while Steve was wrapping up his degree at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. There was an instant spark — personally and creatively.

Over the years, we each carved out our own careers: Nat developing therapeutic arts programs and evolving her whimsical painting practice into what is now The Gnat, and Steve working in the design world, crafting visuals inside a corporate agency. We collaborated here and there, but it wasn’t until our first child was born that something shifted. We started making more art together — during naps, late at night, in the quiet between the chaos.

Sorrentino Studios was our first big leap. Then came the plot twists — layoffs, another baby, and one life-altering event that shook everything. We paused. Regrouped. And from that space of vulnerability and vision, Thunderbird Creative was born: a place where we not only create, but help others bring their ideas to life.

These days, our kids are growing into their own creative forces, and we’re lucky to continue growing too — together. As artists, partners, and co-dreamers, we don’t take any of this for granted. We’re beyond grateful to do this work, to collaborate with kind and thoughtful people, and to build a studio grounded in curiosity, care, and creativity.
